We have been in Marathon for the past two weeks (4 months now in Florida) and have absolutely loved our time here. Marathon is located in the Florida Keys about midway between Key Largo and Key West. We have driven through it a half dozen times, but never really gave it a second thought, until someone suggested it as a place for us to stay. We were fortunate to get a spot at the Bonefish Bay Motel & RV. It is a pretty small and basic campground, but probably the friendliest park we have stayed at of our 150+ campgrounds over the past 20 months. We have met more people here and been more social than we have in quite some time.

The location of this campground is perfect for everything there is to do in the area. Our time here has been very relaxing and a mixture of spending time at the park with new friends, out on the water or at the beach and checking out happy hours and new restaurants. We are currently scheduled to leave here on March 21, but we are considering extending until the end of the month. That will then give us 6 weeks to make our way across the country for our return to Washington in mid to late May. I just can’t believe how fast our two-year mark is approaching.
